It is now clear that the competition will not be resumed.

However, Prime Minister Rutte and Minister of VWS De Jonge have presented an opening plan. If the easing of measures continues and the speed of vaccination increases further, there may be a chance to return to volleyball in the summer months.

So when it is allowed, we want to offer the opportunity to get back to playing as soon as possible. When that can be done in a responsible manner, we will of course arrange this.

Over the past month, we have worked with a number of youth teams and seniors under 27 to see whether beach volleyball is a good alternative. It took some getting used to because it is outside and the sand is cold, but with a pair of old socks and some thicker clothes it was doable. It was nice and active and nice to be back on the ball is the general feedback!
